Charity Haney - Compassion Is…

I met Charity right before the global pandemic kicked off. The very small world of Veteran yogis is our connection. When she was thinking about opening up Yoganook Northside, she reached out to me via my other hustle…Chris Eder Design. I designed her logo and set up her website. (EDIT: Sadly YogaNook Northside is closing…)

Compassion is offering myself and others grace during difficulties instead of throwing daggers and arrows. To be compassionate allows me space to look at myself or another in a loving and kind way; a way that brings peace instead of strife. Beautiful right?? Well, some days I find this incredibly challenging. My perfectionist comes out and all of the "not good enough" that I am putting so forcefully on myself emanates to others too leaving me feeling frustrated, tired, and unkind.

Compassion is feeling all of those things, giving myself a big hug (physically or emotionally), and saying I love you just the way you are; perfectly imperfect like everyone else on Earth. Compassion brings my heart back into balance and allows me to be imperfect and accept others in the same light.
