The Mindful Miscount Raffle: Turning Imperfection Into Purpose April 23 – May 7, 2025
What happens when you make a mistake? Do you start over? Shrink from it? Hide it?
For many of us—especially those who walk the Warrior’s path—mistakes can feel like failures. But what if mistakes were actually openings? What if they could guide us back into presence, compassion, and growth?
That’s exactly what happened during one of my recent mala-making sessions. Thanks to a little ADHD magic, I accidentally tied 27 extra beads into a hand-knotted mala. I almost scrapped it. But instead of unraveling the entire thing, I paused and asked myself, "What if this so-called miscount is exactly the kind of reminder we all need right now?"
From that moment of mindfulness, the Mindful Miscount Raffle was born.
What Is the Mindful Miscount Raffle?
This special two-week event is a creative and powerful way to raise awareness and funding for the incredible non-profit organizations Mala for Vets proudly supports—organizations dedicated to bringing healing, yoga, mindfulness, and community to our veterans.
From April 23 to May 7, you have a chance to win this one-of-a-kind mala—an imperfectly perfect design that symbolizes acceptance, awareness, and the truth that sometimes what we think is a mistake is actually divine alignment.
This raffle is not just about winning a mala. It’s about supporting the mission of non-profits like VETOGA, Warriors at Ease, Connected Warriors, Veterans Yoga Project, Mission Flexible, Mission 22, Camp Shield, Save A Warrior, Boulder Crest Foundation, and others that are doing real, grounded, soul-healing work in the veteran community.
How to Enter
It’s simple—and meaningful.
Donate $22 or more to one of the veteran non-profits we support. You can find a list of these organizations on malaforvets.org or in any of our social media posts.

And that’s it! You’ll be officially entered into the raffle.
The winner will be drawn and announced on May 8th.
Why 27 Extra Beads?
Traditional malas have 108 beads. This one has 135. Those 27 “extra” beads represent the beautiful truth that we are all works in progress—perfectly imperfect and divinely guided. They serve as a tactile reminder to stay grounded, stay compassionate, and stay connected—even when life doesn't go according to plan.
