This mala symbolizes the year-long project with the same title.  The Pursuit of Compassion is designed to shine light on an area the so greatly needs light.

8mm Mountain Jade and Red Tiger Eye beads with two 10mm raw Bohdi seeds from India and a Avalokiteśvara charm, the bodhisattva of compassion.

Collectively, this mala represents the Anahata Chakra. (Heart) The fourth chakra, the heart chakra, rests in the center of the chakra system, at the core of our spirit. Its physical location is the heart, upper chest, and upper back. The fourth is the balance point, integrating the world of matter (the lower three chakras) with the world of spirit (the upper three chakras). Through the heart chakra, we open to and connect with harmony and peace. The health of our heart center registers the quality and power of love in our life. In Sanskrit, the heart chakra is called Anahata, which means "unstruck" or "unhurt." Its name implies that deep beneath our personal stories of brokenness and the pain in our heart, wholeness, boundless love, and a wellspring of compassion reside.

A protective stone, Jade keeps the wearer from harm and brings harmony.  Jade attracts good luck and friendship.  It stabilises the personality and promotes self-sufficiency.  Soothes the mind, releasing negative thoughts.  Stimulates ideas.  A “dream stone”, Jade brings insightful dreams.  It aids emotional release, especially of irritability.  Jade encourages you to become who you really are.

Red Tiger Eye is said to promote a positive attitude and to increase feelings of self worth. It is believed to help you to discover, and have confidence in, your own abilities helping to enhance your personal power and self confidence.

Avalokiteśvara is a bodhisattva who embodies the compassion of all Buddhas.
