Liz Corwin is a former US Navy F-18 jet pilot and world-traveling 200hr-ERYT certified yoga teacher. She is the creator of adventure yoga retreats with WalkAboutYoga and partnered with Gaiam and The Give Back Yoga Foundation to create “Yoga for Military Warrior” videos that were released in March 2017. She has also been featured in Robert Sturman’s military portfolio, Beryl Bender Birch’s book “Yoga for Warriors”, and Yoga Journal. Her workshops and retreats and available throughout Europe and the U.S. and are centered upon the belief that getting lost, is part of the journey of finding home.
Liz’s background includes studying Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore, India with Saraswathi Jois, Power Yoga with Beryl Bender Birch, Vinyasa Flow with Seane Corn, and Adaptive Yoga with Ann Richardson Stevens. The intensity of these lineages is now the essence behind her fresh, challenging and playful teaching style.
Justin is a former Avionics Technician in the US Marine Corps. Today...he dedicates the majority of his time improving the wellness of Veterans through the use of the healing arts: yoga, meditation, and breathe. Justin founded the non-profit VETOGA in 2015 and is making giant waves among the Veteran community. VETOGA seeks to build sustainable communities by bringing the healing aspects of yoga to veterans, their families, and communities.
Justin is a senior Dharma Mittra instructor and a certified Acro Yoga instructor.
Emily is a former Russian Linguist in the US Army. Nowadays, she teaches yoga full time in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area and collaborates with the VA Way to offer free yoga classes to Veterans and Active Duty service members. Traveling all over the world with the Army instilled in Emily a wanderlust for experiencing how other people live. She created The Om Collective to encourage friends and yoga students to travel more and open their eyes to different ways of being and the beauty that can be found in other cultures. She also leads yoga retreats for SoulJourn Yoga, a nonprofit that raises awareness and funds for girls education in developing countries. Join her on her next SoulJourn retreat to Cambodia and give back while receiving the gift of culture and travel February 2020.
Emily used her GI Bill to earn a Master of Science in Yoga Therapy at the Maryland University of Integrative Health and received her 500 hours of training through YogaWorks and Charm City Yoga of Baltimore.
Kimi recently separated from the military after 8 years as an Intelligence Analyst in the US Air Force. She completed her yoga teacher training in 2015 and is a 200hr certified yoga teacher. She has been teaching hot yoga in the Virginia area while also sharing the benefits of yoga with her Intel Squadron on base.
She is now currently located in Florida and is almost complete with her Warriors At Ease Part 1 certification. Kimi plans on combining her experience and knowledge from the military, yoga training, and Warriors At Ease certification to help provide guidance to healing and internal peace for veterans and military communities.
Kelly is currently serving active duty as an Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. While she currently remains on active duty, Kelly has incredible passion for teaching in many facets and holds down two part time jobs in addition to being a mom and an active duty Officer.
Kelly describes her yoga journey first through skydiving … finding that in freefall… there is no choice but to become truly present and living in the present brings pure happiness.
For the last decade Kelly has also dedicated her life to changing others lives through health and fitness. She has a strong background teaching group exercise, bootcamp, cycle, Pilates, and of course Yoga.
