To all of my brothers and sisters....THANK YOU! Thank you for teaching me about service. Thank you for teaching me about family, pride and committment. Thank you for the the tears of joy and sadness. Thank you for being there when I needed a hand, and for not being too proud to reach out for mine. Thank you for having my back and trusting me that I could do the same. Thank you for being my battle buddy and seeing me through some pretty horrible situations. FOR ALL THAT YOU DO...I AM THANKFUL!

I am so happy! Most of my first year of retirement, I searched for different ways of "sitting" when I meditated. I sent many emails to my mentors and friends asking them how they sat. Then one day, I stumbled upon Nic Taylor's page. It struck a cord deep in my heart and soul.
"With every bench I sell, I will release one free into the wild. It is my hope that my benches will help to bring the benefits of meditation into people’s lives.” -Nic Taylor
I sent Nic an email and within a few weeks I was sitting on not one...but two different types of meditation benches. One was what he considered "normal" and the other was for "tall" people. We continued to talk over the next several months and a friendship was born.
One day I asked Nic if he could make me a custom bench using one of my old uniforms. Without hesitation...he said YES! We then started talking about the different organizations I support. Nic lives in NORCAL, so I told him about Save A Warrior. Before you knew it...Nic was hooked!
The idea of the Warrior Meditation bench happened just as organically as my idea for MalaforVets did. I know first hand the benefits of meditation...I know meditation is something ALL Warriors need...and I know that "Helping raise awareness and funds for Veterans" is part of my journey.
The Warrior Meditation bench is another SEVA project. It alligns my beliefs with Nic's. For every Warrior Meditation bench sold, we will donate a bench to a Warrior attending a Save A Warrior Cohort. SAW is where I learned the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique. This bench is where I practice!
We have been working hard putting together as many Warrior Meditation benches as we could with what material we had. We have already received some donated uniforms...but could sure use more. IF you'd like to donate your old uniform tops send me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org
